 Philosophy Digital Learning 




Welcome back to Future Educators! 


Today we are going to be talking about my digital learning philosophy, about how technology and learning go together. I will also talk about how digital learning will be incorporated into my classroom in the future. Now let us get started! 


Technology keeps on growing on a daily basis, when it comes to education it benefits us as educators. It allows us to enhance our classroom by creating engaging and effective learning lessons. When it comes to my digital learning philosophy I believe that it helps students advance more when it comes to lessons. Students are able to explore more in different programs than reading from a book. This will lead to students having more creativity, and it helps create engaging activities. 


Technology and education go hand in hand, in my opinion. The digital tools, apps, resources, websites, and educational platforms that are available must be understood and used often by both teachers and students. It is our duty as educators to provide kids with a solid foundation in digital literacy by teaching them how to use these digital resources in an efficient and responsible manner. In addition to improving their school experience, this foundation will get them ready for the real world, where digital literacy is becoming more and more important. 


I am aware of how technology and education can work in combination throughout this course. My curiosity, creativity, and delight of finishing assignments have all been stimulated by the abundance of digital resources I've come across. Many of these tools were new to me before this class, but it encouraged me to learn more about them and made me realize how important it is to use technology in the classroom. I've learned from this experience that digital tools can have a big impact on a student's learning process by enhancing assignments and enabling a more in-depth examination of ideas.


In my classroom, I plan to use digital learning by creating a Google Classroom where students could access their assignments, track their progress, have videos and different learning tools to use. I will be encouraging students to be creative when using all these applications that could help them. Students will be encouraged to create videos, blogs, PowerPoint and use the applications that are on Clever. These tools will show students different ideas, strategies, and have communication among their classmates. A dynamic and interactive learning environment that makes teaching enjoyable and approachable will be produced by integrating these digital resources. Regular reflections and conversations on technology use will also be incorporated. This will involve instructing students on digital citizenship, social media responsibility, and online safety. By promoting critical thinking regarding how technology affects their life and the world around them, I hope to assist students in developing into not only proficient digital tool users but also considerate and accountable digital citizens. This strategy will guarantee that my students are ready to use technology successfully since they will understand that the choices and actions they make online can have impacts in the real world.

Gaming and Tactile Technology

Importance of Gaming and tactile  

Hello everyone, welcome back to Future Educators!


Today we are going to be talking about 2 different strategies and uses of technology to support diverse learners or exceptional students by using gaming or tactile technology. When looking for support one needs to focus on the students' grade levels. These are 2 different gaming and tactile technologies I will be using in the classroom. 



Starfall

Starfall is a free learning platform that teaches students the basics of each material. It is used for every grade level, mostly for students who are struggling. This platform offers educational games, books, and more activities. It helps students who struggle with their reading to work on phonemic awareness, phonics, and most importantly sight words. The motivation for this platform was to create a multisensory game that allows students to focus on their 5 senses. The games are made to keep students engaged due to their animations and students' likes. Each activity is designed according to one's grade level and learning capability. The teacher could have students work independently or in groups. Some teachers use Starfall when they are done with their assignments of the day. It helps students and teachers to see where they are in one subject. Most school districts provide Starfall to their students because it is a safe website. 





Prodigy

This learning platform provides many different opportunities when it comes to math. It is provided to a student’s curriculum when it comes to their corresponding age and grade. This platform is mostly used and known when it comes to math. Prodigy has games and tutoring what one is learning throughout the day. From what I have experienced, students want to play Prodigy when they are done with their work. This platform keeps them engaged due to the different graphics provided. When it comes to prodigy it is kind of like a regular video game. Once they are finished with a level students get to move on to the next session. Sometimes students unlock new characters, accessories, and advantages in the game. Students get to challenge each other to see what level they are at compared to their classmates. As students keep moving forward with level their questions get harder when continuing forward. Most teachers recommend this platform as a great learning opportunity for their students. It brings out the students' competitiveness which will allow them to move forward with math.

Digital Learning Resources

Brainpop

BrainPOP is an exceptional educational platform that offers video summaries on a diverse array of topics. These video summaries simplify intricate information into more comprehensible segments and connect it to real-world experiences, thereby assisting students in establishing a connection between their learning and the world around them. Interactive assessments, games, and lesson activities have been incorporated by Brain-Pop, which students find to be both informative and engaging. These features enhance the interactive and pleasant learning experience for students. In the classroom, this platform's videos can be used to reinforce the learning of diverse pupils and to serve as a launching point for class discussions. Students have the opportunity to engage in discussions regarding the videos' content, provide rationale for their responses, and express their opinions. 



Google Classroom 

Google Classroom is a platform that educators employ to distribute classwork and videos to their students. This platform will provide students with a large amount of learning opportunities. It enables the efficient management of classroom activities and helps to facilitate communication with both students and parents. Students have the ability to organize their assignments by subjects and timeframes. Additionally, they could engage in classroom discussions to collaborate with their peers. Students may utilize this platform to ask questions about assignments from their instructors. Every grade level implements Google Classroom.



Istation 

Istation is an exceptional educational platform that generates and distributes assignments that enable students to monitor their advancement in accordance with their learning capabilities. It is crucial to maintain students' interest in their educational advancements through the use of this platform. The platform offers activities, books, and videos that will motivate their learning. Istation is especially beneficial in the classroom for facilitating interactive learning. One of the beneficial features of Istation is that it allows educators and administrators to monitor progress and identify areas that require additional attention. This method guarantees that all students receive the assistance necessary to achieve success. It is ensuring that parents and instructors are always informed by monitoring the educational progress of students through Istation. That could offer prompt encouragement and assistance. Not only does this comprehensive platform offer a learning experience, but it also fosters a supportive educational environment.



Kahoot! 

Kahoot! Is a learning platform that allows teachers to create a more engaging environment.  This platform allows teachers to create quizzes for their students. The teacher will provide the questions through the smartboard while the students answer on their computer. When everyone submits an answer the teacher will be able to see the percentage of the people who get the answer right or wrong. This platform will allow students to take a break from taking notes or answering on a regular paper.
